New York Long Plate with New York Knob in Unlacquered Brass

I have purchased several of the New York Long Plate door handles in unlacquered brass over the past two years. The price is undoubtedly premium compared to what you can purchase in the local big box store, but the difference in quality is immediately apparent. One of these handles weighs more than half a dozen of the cheap handles you can buy anywhere. The mechanisms are wonderfully crafted, and after completing multiple installs (very straightforward for even an inexperienced DIYer) I am confident these handles will outlast the wooden doors they are now part of! I love the unlacquered brass finish as it will age and show patina in a way a cheap door handle never could, a subtle visual hint that these are a beautiful, premium investment that will endure in a way only the best home furnishings can. The expense means it will likely take me years to replace the mixed style and quality of handles the previous homeowner left behind (and some doors will need to be replaced to be worthy of the new handles!) but every time I walk by one of the doors that has received this upgraded handle, I feel pleased by both its aesthetic and the lifetime of use I know is ahead of me.
