The main types of door functions are Passage (doors that don’t require locking), Privacy (a door that can be locked by a button on the inside), Dummy (has no mechanical latch and acts only as a pull), and Interior Mortise (door with an active latch with skeleton key lock). Passage Set
- Active latch with no locking mechanism.
- The knob is always unlocked.
- Specify “KH” to order a non-functioning keyhole.
- Standard door range: 1-3/8” to 1-3/4” thick.
Privacy Lock
- Active latch with a locking mechanism.
- Privacy pin provides locking through rose or long plate.
- Can be opened from outside with a release key.
- Standard door range: 1-3/8” to 1-3/4” thick.
Single Dummy
- A non-functioning door set without a passage/privacy latch, and no locking mechanism.
- Used on one side of the door, typically with roller catch, flush bolts or surface bolts.
- Surface mounted.
Double Dummy
- Two non-functioning door sets (without a passage/privacy latch) are used on both sides of a door, or on side-by-side or French doors (typically used with roller catch, flush bolts or surface bolts).
- Surface mounted or thru-bolted.
Interior Mortise Lock
- Active latch with a skeleton key locking mechanism.
- Requires special mortise door preparation for mortise case, unless the door is already prepped for a mortise lock.
- Backset 2 1/4″.
- Standard door range: 1-3/8” to 1-3/4” thick.
- Must be purchased through an authorized online or showroom dealer, or by contacting our customer service team directly.
Single Cylinder Deadbolt
- Manually operated bolt for entry door with keyed cylinder on the exterior and thumbturn on the interior.
- Standard door range: 1-3/4” to 2” thick.
Double Cylinder Deadbolt
- Manually operated bolt for entry door with keyed cylinder on both the exterior and interior.
- Standard door range: 1-3/4” to 2” thick.
Entry Handleset with Single Cylinder
- Active interior thumb-operated latch and grip incorporating an exterior latch (passage) single cylinder deadbolt.
- Requires interior and exterior single cylinder handleset trims to make a complete handleset.
- Standard door range: 1-3/4” to 2” thick.
