Building a home from the ground up and infusing it with authentic character and warmth can often be the most challenging step. For interior design enthusiast and content creator Madison (@madisonjorg), the goal for her newly built traditional colonial home was clear from the start: create a space that feels deeply rooted in history, lived-in, and welcoming for her family of five.
To achieve that sought-after historic allure, Madison turned to Nostalgic Warehouse to upgrade her interior door hardware, selecting the timeless Classic Rosettes with New York Knobs in Polished Brass. The result is a seamless fusion of vintage elegance and modern durability that elevates every room.
Hardware That Tells a Story
Growing up in a family that deeply appreciated antiques, Madison’s personal style has always leaned toward pieces rich in history and character. Over time, that passion evolved into a love for traditional design, specifically old woods, rich patinas, and solid metals built to last.
"The Nostalgic Warehouse doorknobs we chose were the perfect addition, making the home feel finished, like they’ve been here forever and will stay forever," Madison shares.
While the design aligned perfectly with her aesthetic vision, the exceptional craftsmanship left a lasting impression. Beyond standard construction-grade options, the substantial weight and solid feel of Nostalgic Warehouse solid brass door hardware added an instant sense of quality to the home’s quiet, everyday interactions.
Designing for Life, Comfort, and Family
For Madison, a beautiful home must first and foremost be functional. Her design philosophy prioritizes how a room feels, aiming for spaces that are cozy, functional, and equipped with clever storage solutions for daily life. When selecting elements for her home, she focuses on natural materials like antique pine and brass that show character through wear.
Her home tells the story of family life. It's filled with everyday memories, active kids, and spaces designed for connection around the kitchen table rather than untouchable perfection.
That hands-on philosophy extends directly into her home projects. From laying pine flooring alongside her family to building a custom kitchen island from scratch when commercial options fell short, Madison embraces the creative process with enthusiasm and determination.
